Services / Cameras

Cameras that record at the property, not in someone else's cloud.

Camera positions and fields of view are drawn onto the plans before first fix, so every cable lands where the camera needs to be.

We install UniFi Protect CCTV cameras across Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex from our bases in Southampton and Haslemere. Ubiquiti UFSP certified. Areas we cover →

Questions about UniFi cameras

How long is footage kept?

UniFi Protect records to a drive in the gateway at the property and overwrites the oldest footage when the drive is full, so it depends on the number of cameras, their picture quality, and whether they record all the time or on motion only. At our example house, three cameras recording around the clock write about 420 GB a day. With the 16 TB drive split equally between full and reduced quality, the UniFi Design Center estimates around 21 days at full quality and 283 days at reduced quality. Every proposal gives the estimate for your cameras.

Is there a monthly fee?

No. Recordings stay on a drive in the rack at the property and the UniFi Protect app comes with the hardware, so there is no cloud subscription to renew.

Can you add cameras to a house that's already built?

Yes, on the same system as whole-house WiFi. Each camera takes power and data over one cable, so a finished house still needs a cable to every camera. Before you commit we tell you where each cable would run and what making good it needs. Existing homes

What does AI detection do?

The cameras recognise people, vehicles and packages themselves, so you can choose to be alerted to those rather than to any movement in the picture.

Where do the cameras go?

We draw each camera and its field of view on the plans before first fix, covering the entrances, drive and perimeter, so every cable lands where the camera needs to be. See a sample proposal
